Getting snappy with the iPhone SG S camera

One of the new features on the iPhone 3G S is an upgraded camera with video recording. Not only did Apple increase the shooter’s resolution to 3 megapixels, but also it added a nifty “Tap to Focus” feature. As you point the lens toward your subject and tap the display, the camera automatically focuses on that point and adjusts the white balance, color, contrast, and exposure accordingly.

In our tests, the Tap to Focus made a big difference, particularly with controlling the amount of light in a shot. Photos taken under most conditions were improved, but indoor shots without natural light looked about the same. Also, we didn’t notice any change from the promised automatic macro setting. But enough of us talking; take a look at our iPhone 3G S camera slideshow to judge for yourself.
