Funtoxication
Alcohol and monkeys. Need I say more?

Alcohol and monkeys. Need I say more? For those of us that have ever been drinking and thought, “I drunk how wonder I am?” (thank you) now there’s an app for that. Enter: Funtoxication. A great new app that helps measure a person’s BAC (blood alcohol content) through tracking drink consumption, offers fun monkey themed games to measure sobriety and even finds you a taxi in case you need a ride home or better yet, the next bar.
Funtoxication is brought to you by North Loop Media who also created Monkey Madness. In an effort to be a thorough reviewer and win over our readers ::insert charming smile:: I did some research and here’s what I found: The games on Funtoxication are the same as Monkey Madness. The difference is that the Funtoxication games use a player’s score to judge sobriety and let them know how they’re doing at the end of the game. The secret: Both apps cost the exact same.
So what kind of “monkey business” can you expect from Funtoxication? The first is the BAC calculator, which doesn’t involve monkeys, sadly enough, but allows a person to gauge their levels by creating a profile based on gender, weight and age. You can create up to four profiles because let’s face it, why get drunk and play monkey games by yourself? Once the app calculates your BAC (based on a wide assortment of drink options) to be above 0.08, an automated message appears and asks if you’d like to locate a taxi service by using your current location on your iPhone.
The game section has three options to choose from: Monkey Mash, Monkey Memory and Monkey Gunman. Monkey Mash is similar to “Whack a Mole” where you hit the Monkeys that pop out of their respective holes. Monkey Memory utilizes a little more brain power by challenging players to match pictures of Monkeys as many times as possible within the given time limit. My personal favorite is the last game, Monkey Gunman, simply because there’s nothing more fun than monkeys dressed up as cowboys. In this game you outdraw the monkey by touching the screen as fast as possible once the “Draw!” message displays.
I love this app. It’s hilarious and fun, but also responsible because it assists in monitoring alcohol levels and locates alternative methods of traveling while intoxicated. No app can replace the most important one we were born with, common sense, but for only $0.99 this one is a great addition to any iPhone and is too good to pass up. Now if only there was an app to prevent drunk texting…
